Tasting Notes
A soft and refreshing wine, this Viognier is crystal clear in color and nice floral notes with dried mandarins and white peach. Flavors of fresh stone fruit, peach, plumb mingle with a essence of rose petal. The sweet notes pair nicely with spicy food. Perhaps chicken with spicy Jerk seasoning over herb-infused rice with grilled asparagus.

Vineyard Notes
Every year is unique and 2017 was a very interesting year. We came out of a long, cold winter with minimal damage. The ground was full of water from all of the snow and the grapes took off as spring started. Things progressed nicely until some untimely fires started taking place around the area. The smoke ended up keeping temperatures under the triple digits, which allowed the grapes to mature at a slow and steady pace. Harvest was right on time and things went beautifully. The wine from this vintage should be amazing.
Winemaking
Viognier is an interesting wine to produce. It has consistently been one of our most highly rated white wines. The ripe fruit aromatics and balanced profile allow it to drink nicely right off of the bat, but also allows it to age a few years gracefully. I blended a little more Roussanne than typical, as it helped balance out a sweet note in the Viognier. Classic floral notes are noticeable with peach and mild honey. I love the depth and complexity of this wine. Extended lees stirring built up a little more body. The acidity balances out well with the fruity notes.
