Tasting Notes
This classic Malbec highlights notes of black fruit, berries, crushed pepper and herb mix, which creates a bright and sweet perfume. The flavors are lush and velvety, the earth tones blend with fruit for a perfect balance. Intense and refreshing, this wine will get even better after a few years in the cellar.

Vineyard Notes
Vineyard Source: Coyote Canyon Vineyard AVA: Horse Heaven Hills Grower Degree Days: 3206 2015 Vineyard Review 2015 was the warmest vintage in Washington State. Each season trended on the hot side and when it was all said and done, we were setting all kinds of records. The spring was warm and mixed with a little rain set the crop up great for the season. The summer started hot and just kept on getting hotter. We were prepared for this since the 2 previous vintages were warm, but it still pushed things along quickly. Some white grapes were picked in early August and our reds started in early September. This vintage is showing a lot of big fruit characteristics.
Winemaker Notes
Malbec was one of first wines I worked with in WA State. It is such a tasty grape, always enjoy heading out to the vineyard to sample this one. It has medium berries and the skins slide right off the pulp. The color is amazing, and the wines have this great blend of fruit and earth. I think of it as a soft approachable Cab Franc, you get a little funk but overall a cleaner, fruity expression. The grapes were handpicked and fermented in a small fermenter. They were then aged in French Oak barrels for 20 months. This was 3 barrels of goodness blended together, 100% Malbec.
