Description
Tasting Notes
The bouquet has light oak notes mixed with ripe fruit, spice and mild citrus. Darker red fruit flavors, ripe blackberry, spice, leather, and soft tannins. Full bodied for a Rhone style blend but smooth and rich with a long lingering finish.

Vineyard Notes
Vineyard Source: Coyote Canyon Vineyard AVA: Horse Heaven Hills Grower Degree Days: 3206 2015 was the warmest vintage in Washington State. Each season trended on the hot side and when it was all said and done, we were setting all kinds of records. The spring was warm and mixed with a little rain set the crop up great for the season. The summer started hot and just kept on getting hotter. We were prepared for this since the 2 previous vintages were warm, but it still pushed things along quickly. Some white grapes were picked in early August and our reds started in early September. This vintage is showing a lot of big fruit characteristics.
Winemaking
Making this Rhone style blend is always fun. The Syrah and Grenache are both taking center stage in this vintage while the Mourvèdre is used to accent the other varietals. The Syrah has always been a nice backbone to the wine, it adds a rich mouthfeel and smooth silky finish to the wine. The Grenache has great acidity and light bright fruit characteristics that mixed well in the blend. Mourvèdre has black pepper and spice components that give the wine more structure and a longer finish.
